While Candidates Drone About US Pakistan-Afghan Border Strikes-- Drones Drone On With Increasing Frequency

The Really: McCain has attacked Obama about saying it aloud (going into Pakistan to get Al-Queda with or without Pakistani permission) and Palin stepped in it along the way: but is it already going on?

Press reports of 20 militants killed in the tribal lands between Pakistan and Afghanistan and earlier reports of found wreckage of drones in Pakistan show the argument between McCain and Obama to be full of holes. The Drone War is is already going on.

Back on September 20 the Pakistani newspapers reported drones over the Waziristan areas known as Al-Queda refuge and training sites.

On September 24 wreckage of a drone was reported in Pakistan but the US denied it was a US drone. Is it possible it is actually Russian?

Various international sources we Googled have claimed between seven and nine strikes in the last couple of weeks as well as a commando incursion. These sources are also in countries where you might check-in but you might not check-out so we take that with a grain of salt.

So who is flying these things as we enter this new age of remote combat? It turns out to be the best and the brightest: American fighter pilots.
