The Really: Dow had a shot at setting a new record for point drop in one day. Old record is -777.68 At one point today the Dow was -800 points.
Update: Market rallies to -434 points at 12:30pm PT. Record no longer in sight.
Update 2: Dow at -384 points. Chance for a record seems slim.
CNN changes headline from Dow at "All Time Point Drop" to "Worry At All Time High."
Update 3: Dow closes -369.88. Cable news networks visibly disappointed at Dow failure to come even close to record.
Strangely, watching this old Journey video seems to have a calming effect.
