The Really: The gloves come off tonight.
According to a comment to a voter last week, McCain says the gloves will come off Tuesday. That would be tonight. Now, here is something that sucks worse than negative campaigning: life is sometimes unfair.
McCain ,who suffered incredible torture as a POW during the Vietnam War, has lost movement in certain parts of his body. One arm can't be raised too high and it is literally impossible for him to use a keyboard. This is horrible and this sucks. Also McCain is in his seventies. Getting old sucks, we know.
The problem is when McCain gets mad or "demonstrative" his movements seem jerky, creaky. It may be because of the injuries or it may be because he is just...old. Either way, when McCain gets mad he looks like a crazy old guy screaming, "Get off my lawn." He should not get mad. He should leave the gloves on. He should be statesmanlike. That is how we like our olds. Of course given the way things are going, Obama should just be himself.
