The pitbull hockeymom took the stage and gave them what they wanted at the Republican National Convention last night. Stabby attacks at Obama; tear-jerking moments of dubious intent when introducing Trig her Down Syndrome child to the delegates; slams at Americans who might be concerned about reading people their rights. Really?
Is that what Americans want in a Vice-President or President these days. Are things not more complicated than that? Do Americans want more than re-hashed Erma Bombeck when they think about their families in the coming decades?
We do not dislike Governor Palin. We wanted more of her beyond the media caricature of the last few days. But we think she might be planning another hunting moosefest. The moose is an animal we do not like and yet we feel compelled to root for the moose.
