American Red Cross Goes On CNN And Says, "We're Broke!"

The Really: The disaster relief arm of the American Red Cross went on television today in a plea for donations as they are currently maxing out their credit. Really?!

The American Red Cross which gets aproximately 2 billion dollars a year from blood sales and has an operating budget of almost 6 billion is kinda, broke. At least its disaster relief arm is. On CNN this morning a Red Cross administrator basically said they are living on credit and the many storms and continuing obligations are draining it dry. But in serious economic times will getting donations from the American public be like getting blood from a stone?
