David Foster Wallace considered one of the finest writers of his generation committed suicide Friday in Claremont, California. He had been teaching and writing at Pomona College. He was found by his wife. His suicide was by hanging according to the report in the Los Angeles Times. His novel Infinite Jest is considered one of the major literary works of the last 100 years.
