Stevens Loses Senate Seat To Begich

The Really: Another Alaskan loses a major election.

We will always have the polar bears (and the oil). MSNBC and AP report Stevens loses re-election bid. No need for special elections after he is tossed from the Senate -- or for Governors to think about maybe trying their hand in Washington right now, you betcha.

Republicans Buy Bootleg/Counterfeit Merchandise For Palin

The Really: With a $150,000 fashion budget did the GOP really need to cheap out on the Louis Vuitton bag?

Governor Sarah Palin's daughter is seen here in a picture carrying a FAKE Louis Vuitton hand bag. What's the big deal? Well for starters we could go on a rant for the GOP spending all that cash on Palin during a time when the economy should be their number one issue but then again we could also blame Barack Obama for spending extra money to go see his ailing Grand mama. We could also take the line of, the girl has a fake (made illegally) hand bag and is thus promoting the crime of counterfeiting. And if spending money on luxury items and promoting crimes wasn't horrible enough, the Palin's and GOP truly crossed the line when they toted a knock off bag made bad enough that someone could actually spot its flaws in a photo... With all the secrete service, high surveillance and God knows what else what, couldn't they protect this little girl from some idiot bloggers with nothing better to do then write this story at 10:44pm on a Saturday night? Guess not!

Where Is Sinead O'Connor When You Need Her?

The Really: So Sarah Palin is going to be on SNL tonight?

So will Tina Fey be there? How about Tim Robbins? Or even better Sinead O'Connor who famously ended a performance on SNL by tearing up a picture of the Pope. Let's be honest: SNL is always good but its edgy greatness ended just after season one. Nobody wants an incident and Palin will be a good sport and SNL will be good hosts.

But is it too much to pray for something like the Sinead-Pope picture incident?

Palin: I've Got Nothing To Lose...

The Really: But we do.

I am still trying to figure out exactly what Gov. Palin was talking about on Rush Limbaugh's show today. Did she mean attacking Obama? Did she mean running on a national political ticket?

Sometimes the executioner likes their work a bit too much. People who attack someone for "terrorist" ties really shouldn't have a long association with a seperatist political group with a stated hatred for the US government.

People who think every shout is an attack and requires questioning someone's loyalty to our country (when it is just a shout to "speak up").

People who claim they have been completely vindicated really should read the actually report; they may find they have been found guilty of "abusing" their power.

In the last 8 years, along with a pot of money, we in this country have lost a lot.

Suckered into a war we didn't need to fight. Lulled into a false sense of economic security while the robber barons were looting the banks, the treasury and the future.

We do have something to lose.
We could lose the hope that this trend can be reversed.

Palin Clears Herself Of Troopergate Scandal!

The Really: In news interviews Sarah Palin claims she was completely cleared in the Troopergate scandal?

What do we call that: fibbing, dissembling or maybe just LYING!? ABC News chronicles the mis-statements? characterizations? Lies!! right here.

Just in case anyone is confused about the character of this candidate, there it is above -- in black and white and directly from the text of the report of the Alaskan State Legislature. This is what the report says: abused her power.

McCain Praises Obama To The Cheer Of Boos...

The Really: Everyone has heard about this but now you really get to see it with your own eyes.

Out With The Old, In With The ...

The Really: Does John McCain really stand a chance against the poster boy for Hope?

Both candidates were perched up on that stage for 90 minutes. Both candidates stood fast and continued to secure their party's vote. Both candidates hemmed and hawed at what the other said at times but both candidates did not come out equal. I stand neither right or left, nor right of left but what I saw tonight, what we all saw tonight if we chose to watch with objective eyes was a stark difference between our two candidates. It wasn't white and black, it wasn't Democrat or Republican; it was old versus new. It didn't have as much to do with age as it had to do with aging ideas.

No one in their right or left mind for that matter will stand up and say that Barak Obama is totally different then everyone else in Washington. No one will tell you he doesn't like a little earmark here and there. No one is even saying that his plans for health care or getting our economy on back on track are totally original and outstanding. What you will hear is that he seems the most "with it." That Barak seems to have his finger on the pulse of the MAJORITY more so then Senator McCain. To this I cannot disagree. Barak is certainly a politician, however, in this case one home is better then 9 and two cars are better then twelve.

Our economy will not be fixed on the laurels of John McCain's time in a POW camp. Terrorism will not subside because Sarah Palin can see Russia from her deck (and she can't). There will be more.

Sarah Palin's End Of Days

The Really: The economic meltdown is killing the McCain bid for the White House?

Conventional wisdom ( which seems an oxymoron these days) is that the economic downturn, or New Great Depression if you like, is dooming the McCain campaign but Sarah Palin appearing dressed in all white like an Aimee Semple McPherson wannabe seems very happy at a campaign rally this morning chiding the Four Horseman: Barack Obama, Joe Biden, The New York Times and the MSM (Main Stream Media) and Bill Ayers. The woman who believes Jesus will come back in her lifetime must truly feel like one of the chosen ones as the market opened Monday October 6 nearly -500 points down.

It must all be part of a plan, though we think God's plan has less to do with it rather than unbridled de-regulation and typical American consumer debt debt and mortgage habits: plenty of blame to go around for both Democrats and Republicans. But the strident, nasty tone (maybe it is just the Fargo accent?) which Palin has embraced seems to play well to the Left Behind people.

But Aimee ended up being exposed as an Elmer Gantry and markets go up as well as down so the End of Days may not be nigh, unless you listen to cable news all day long (which could give you hives as well.) Or maybe if you are part of the "still here" crowd you agree with one of the offspring of the New York Times founders who wrote on his Facebook page: "Sarah Palin Can Suck A D***."

Update: The "Aimee" connection is apparently not that much of a stretch: Dependable Renegade.

Palin's Magnificent 7 To Give Statements In Troopergate Probe

The Really: The Alaskan State Government is really going to hold Governor Sarah Palin's feet to the fire and have her staff answer some question.

The headline may read "7 in Palin's administration agree to give statements in probe" but if you read the fine print, all 7 didn't agree willingly. All 7 had fought tooth and nail to dodge the subpoenas but it seems the truth may be catching up after all. Stay tuned to find out what happens, and we'll be back in just a minute.

Come On Sarah, "Just The Facts, Ma'am"

The Really: Did Sarah Palin really just say that Obama was palin around with terrorists without checking her facts? She sure did.

Check out an article by CNN.com that actually did some fact checking about Governor Palin's now infamous claim that Senator Barak Obama is palling around with terrorists.

McCain Feels The Pain So They "Change The Subject"

The Really: Here we go again with another example of how our political candidates try to be elected on scare tactics, fear mongering, and really stupid attacks on their opponent rather then talk about what they will do to help the country.

And yes Jack, we really can handle the truth...

For once I would really like to see a political campaign run 100% on the merits of the candidate vying for office. Time and time again when a candidate wants to be elected or look good, they point out the supposed faults of their opponent. Well here is the problem with that, their views are obviously tainted. Rarely and I mean RARELY will they even state true facts to support their outlandish claims about their opponent.

I think the public deserves a break from this crap. I believe that we are all intelligent enough to do our own critical thinking. I believe that if candidates would just give us some "straight talk" about themselves, give us some real facts about what they have done and what their intentions are; that we would be able to make a sound choice about who we wanted to align ourselves with. Would one of these presidential candidates please stand up and get elected on their own merits, not the demerits of their opponent. And one more thing if either of you can handle it, would you please save us from having to listen to your bottom ticket pit bulls talk nonsense about the top of the other ticket.

The TRUTH is that Sarah Palin has no idea what John McCain has done or what kind of a maverick he really is. The TRUTH is that she can't quote any other Supreme Court cases. The TRUTH is that she doesn't know much about running a country or a minor league hockey team for that matter.

And now you Joe... The TRUTH is that Joe Bidin did say he didn't think Barak Obama was qualified to be the President of The United States. The TRUTH is that he misstated John McCain's record on voting when it comes to the budget at the Vice Presidential Debate. The TRUTH is that Joe is just as much a part of the Good Old Boys Club as any other Senator who has been there for 30 plus years and that does not lend itself to changing how things are being done in the Government.

You want my vote Barak, you want my vote John, you want my vote Joe, you want my vote Sarah, how about just being honest! Tell us what you have done in life that you regret. Tell us that you made some crappy choices along the way but you have learned and moved forward. Tell us that you will really listen and respond to what you hear. Tell us that you will make mistakes again in life but you will do your best to be honest and open at all times. Stand up their naked and say "This is who I am." I wouldnt have half the disdain for politics as I do if someone up there would just show us enough respect to actually talk to us straight. All the candidates tell us constantly that they know how we feel. Really? Do you get talked around everyday of your life by the people who are supposed to represent your best interests? I dont think so.

TELL US THE TRUTH!

Ten Questions They Are Afraid To Ask At The Vice Presidential Debate

The Really: Why does no one really ask the hard questions?

To both candidates:
1: What does the vice president really do?

To Governor Palin:
2: If John McCain died would you turn Alaska into the Capitol of the United States? (It's bigger then DC)

To both candidates:
3: Why are you getting paid to hold your current Senate/Governor position when you are just out campaigning?

To Governor Palin:
4: Do you care more about getting out of Troopergate or getting out of Iraq?

To both candidates:
5: Can either of you tell me why George Bush has not been impeached?

To Senator Biden:
6: Will you and Barak Obama have a secret handshake with a fist pound at the end?

To both candidates:
7: Can either of you tell me why Vice President Dick Cheney has not been impeached?

To Senator Biden:
8: All things being the same, would you rather vote for a black man or a white woman?

To both candidates:
9: Are either of you willing to tell on your boss if you see them doing something wrong?

To both candidates:
10: Do you think you are more qualified to run this country then the man you may be running under?
