The Really: Joe Six-Pack actually means anything to ANYBODY?
Ever since Karl Rove pulled off 8 years of Geroge Bush by saying he was guy you wanted to have a beer with, Republicans have had a love affair with beer slogans. In the current campaign "Joe Six-Pack": the hockey-mom-lipstick-wearing-pitbull-with-heels-off-gloves-on has mixed the metaphors so much that the phrases are now largely meaningless.
CNN on a search for Joe Six-Pack couldn't find anyone who really liked being called that. When times get tough, silly phrases have less resonance. Change however, seems absolutely prophetic.
